Lemon Drop Martini
The Lemon Drop was developed at a now defunct San Francisco bar called Henry Africa's. This sweet and lemony drink came into vogue during the 1970s and is now one of America's classic cocktails.

Wondering about the taste? Think Lemonheads hard candy.

Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces premium vodka
1/2 ounce orange liqueur
1 teaspoon superfine sugar
3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice

ice cubes, for shaking
superfine sugar, for dipping
twist of lemon, for garnish

Method
Half – fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the vodka, orange liqueur, sugar, and lemon juice; cover and shake well. Strain into a sugar – rimmed martini glass [see "Bartenders NOTE"]. Garnish with lemon twist.

Bartenders NOTE: To create a sugar – rimmed glass: pour some superfine sugar onto a small plate. Rub a cut lemon around the rim of a glass. Turn the glass upside down and press it into the sugar.
