Bacon Wrapped Roasted Shrimp
|
One of the secrets to this recipe is the grill seasoning. Most commercial seasoning
blends contain paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, oregano,
thyme, salt and pepper. You can find grill seasoning in your grocery, or you can blend
your own.
Ingredients
16 large shrimp, cleaned, tail left on
Grill seasoning
8 slices bacon cut in half
Method
Wrap each shrimp with 1/2 slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick. [Be sure and use
the large shrimp as the cooking time for the shrimp and the bacon is similar. Don’t
use the medium shrimp as they will become tough and rubbery.]
Line a jellyroll pan with aluminum foil and place a baking rack inside. Place the shrimp
on the rack, and sprinkle with grill seasoning to taste; flip over and sprinkle the other
side. Set aside for 15 to 20 minutes while the oven preheats. [The bacon will turn from
creamy white to a little opaque, and the seasoning will work its magic]
Preheat oven to 450°
Roast wrapped shrimp in preheated oven, 10 to 15 minutes. The bacon should be
crisp, and the shrimp pink and tender.
